From the deck you will often hear the sounds of the forest with elephants walking past the decks. The rooms offer privacy and exclusivity in cool, leafy surroundings. Each treehouse suite has its own spacious front deck suspended above the forest floor and large windows which invite the lush forest inside.

- LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK -

Manyara is best known for it's tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake that attracts thousands of pink flamingos, one of Tanzania’s biggest elephant population and breathtaking scenery.

The unique lions in the park have the capability to climb trees; being nocturnal animals they spend most of their day resting up in the big fig trees and at sunset they descend when the temperatures are cooler. This is one of the only two populations of these unique lions the other being in Ishasha area in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

MOUNT MERU & KILIMANJARO

This flight will take you over Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, a volatile volcano and the highest mountain in Africa.

Mount Meru is surrounded by greenery, springs, gorges a dramatic caldera and small cones, the perfect habitat for both large and small creatures, allowing for plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife from above. As we approach the mountain we will climb up to 13,000 feet and follow the mountains sharp peaks. We will fly around the mountain to glance at the changing forest and follow the path of the river.

We will then continue on to Mount Kilimanjaro, standing tall straight ahead. As we approach the mountain through West Kili you will gain a real perspective of how vast the mountain really is. We will fly up the Shira plateau, around Kibo and the ice fields down through the Saddle and below into the forests.

HADZABE TRIBE

The Hadza, a small ethnic group of hunter-gatherers, are the earliest known inhabitants of the Yaeda Valley, though no one can say for sure when they
arrived or where they came from originally. Linguistic studies show that while their language is superficially similar to the Khoisan language group of the Bushmen and Hottentots, it cannot be placed in any of the recognized major ethno-linguistic groups.

The focus of a visit to the Yaeda valley is to learn about and from the Hadza by taking natural history walks with them, visiting their camps and taking part in hunting and gathering. This is a very special experience in this day and age.

- NORTHERN RIFT -

OL DOINYO LENGAI

The cottages have high ceilings and are decked out in natural colours that mirror the lake and forest. En-suite bathrooms all have hot running water and flush loos. In front of each cottage, a terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect spot from which to watch the island life pass by.

All meals are served outdoors, under the stars in front of the vast lake. As the sun sets, watch hippos emerge from the water to graze on the grass around camp.

LAKE VICTORIA

In the southwest of Lake Victoria lies Rubondo Island, an extraordinary example of wildlife conservation. It’s Africa’s largest island national park at 26 kilometers long and up to 10 kilometers wide. More than 75 percent of the island is covered in pristine equatorial rain forest. Since the 1960s, the island has been a haven for wild chimpanzee, sitatunga antelope, elephant and giraffe.

CHIMPANZEE TREK

There are two chimpanzee trekking areas on Rubondo Island. Depending on where the chimps are situated and their visibility, you may need to take a game drive or boat ride and then venture on foot to see them. Throughout the year the chimpanzee habituation experience can be
