END OF SAFARI
THE MAASAI MARA
The Maasai Mara is one of Kenya’s most acclaimed wildlife reserves, renowned for its open savannahs, wildebeest migration, prides of lion and vast herds of plains game.
Game viewing in the Mara is unrivalled. Your day can be as active or relaxing as you please. Activities include bush walks, day and night game drives, cultural visits to a Masai village, and excursions to a rhino sanctuary.
No where in the world is there a movement of animals as immense or impressive as the wildebeest migration. Over two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya between July and October.
The Mara is home to one of the world’s highest densities of lion, with 15 lions per 100 kilometers squared– and some impressive black manned male specimens!
RICHARD'S FOREST CAMP
Richard's Forest Camp, located in the Ol Choro conservancy, offers a unique safari experience with 8 spacious traditional tents nestled in a shady forest. The camp provides a perfect blend of privacy and wildlife immersion, with resident leopards, giraffes, and other animals often visiting.
Each tent offers stunning views of the Mara plains. Guests can relax in various settings, including a cozy lounge with a log fire, an indoor dining area, and outdoor dining under the stars.
LUNCH AT SAMATIAN ISLAND
The flight from the Mara to Baringo is quite spectacular, first flying over the Mara plains, then on over the tea plantations of Kericho before flying up the rift valley lakes to Baringo.
SOAMES HOTEL
Soames Hotel is located just outside of Nanyuki town, set within a 100 acre property, surrounded by grassy fields with uninterrupted views of Mount Kenya. Small and charming, we consider ourselves to be a friendly, easy going hotel where guests are free to come-and-go as they wish, perfectly located just far enough out of town but easily accessible to town amenities, as well as the stunning Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Solio Reserve.
BORANA CONSERVANCY
There is no landscape in Kenya, outside of National Parks, more crucial for the future of elephants than Laikipia. 7,000 elephants are protected by private and communal landowners and a network of inspiring conservation organizations.
Borana is located at the foot of Mt Kenya just North of the equator, resting on the Laikipia Plateau. The Conservancy is nestled between an arid landscape to the north and ancient indigenous forests to the south. This 32,000-acre conservation area is home to both Black and White Rhino and a wide variety of other endangered species.
FUZZ'S CAMP
Fuzz's Camp is nestled away in between acacia trees, surrounding a plunge pool and mess area. The bar is at the heart of the camp, an area to gather around and reminisce of the days safari sightings. There are six safari tents, all with comfortable beds and flush loos.
Fuzz's wife, Bimbi, is an exceptional cook and horse rider. For those riding enthusiasts join Bimbi on a morning ride as you get closer to the wildlife than you could ever imagine. Giraffes and zebra act as if you do not exist as they wonder past the horses.
