LAKE VICTORIA
In the southwest of Lake Victoria lies Rubondo Island, an extraordinary example of wildlife conservation. It’s Africa’s largest island national park at 26 kilometers long and up to 10 kilometers wide. More than 75 percent of the island is covered in pristine equatorial rain forest. Since the 1960s, the island has been a haven for wild chimpanzee, sitatunga antelope, elephant and giraffe.
RUBONDO ISLAND
Rubondo Island lodge is the only camp on the Island, it has eight waterfront rooms which have been hand-built using traditional methods and local materials. The cottages have high ceilings and are decked out in natural colours that mirror the lake and forest. En suite bathrooms all have hot running water and flushing toilets. In front of each cottage, a terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect spot from which to watch the island life pass by.
All meals are served outdoors, under the stars in front of the vast lake. As the sun sets, watch hippos emerge from the water to graze on the grass around camp.

Manyara is best known for it's tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake that attracts thousands of pink flamingos, one of Tanzania’s biggest elephant population and breathtaking scenery.
The unique lions in the park have the capability to climb trees; being nocturnal animals they spend most of their day resting up in the big fig trees and at sunset they descend when the temperatures are cooler.
